If you're driving in Boynton Beach, check before you go. WPBF reported severe flooding Monday night from Gateway Boulevard and Seacrest Boulevard to the 1900 block of North Seacrest Boulevard, and drivers are urged to find another route. Days of steady rain have led officials in five counties to close roads or tell people to avoid them.

Residents farther north describe conditions as extreme. Donovan Simpson, who lives in the Foxhall community, said the water in his street was above his waist and had flooded his home. In Port St. Lucie, officials said drivers whose vehicles get stranded can call a towing company directly if they aren't in immediate danger.

  • Riviera Beach: water main repair expected done by 6 a.m. Tuesday
  • Lantana: stay off the roads until conditions improve
  • Boca Raton: standing water on Dixie Highway and NW Second Avenue
  • Port St. Lucie: California and Savona boulevards closed

Voting today? Check your polling place before you go. Palm Beach Daily News says polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Palm Beach's three polling locations.

The Wrap

Pirate Fest wrapped up Halloween weekend at Centennial Park and Amphitheater on East Ocean Avenue, with axe throwing, archery, sword-fighting games, a haunted trail and mermaids splashing around. Boynton Beach's Pirate Fest first launched in 2012 and is free. Giant chicken legs were on the menu, naturally. Arrr, well played.
