Search Smarter for Homeschoolers: Research Without AI

About this event

Join us for "Search Smarter: Research Without AI," an interactive class designed for 6th to 12th graders eager to enhance their research skills. Participants will learn how to find reliable information online without the assistance of artificial intelligence. The session will cover effective search strategies using search engines, library databases, and credible websites, focusing on how to choose appropriate search terms, narrow results, identify trustworthy sources, recognize questionable information, and compare various sources before forming conclusions. Attendees will also undertake a series of research challenges to test their detective skills, with a strict no-AI policy in place. Completing the program earns participants community service hours and a certificate. Please note that all library programs may be photographed or recorded; written consent can be requested on the day of the event. For more information, call .
