Local Chefs, Restaurants And Purveyors Unite For Benefit Event Supporting Driftwood’s Jimmy Everett And Family
WHAT: South Florida’s hospitality community is coming together to support Chef Jimmy Everett, owner of Driftwood restaurant, and his son, Maxon, following the sudden passing of Jimmy’s wife and Driftwood co-founder, Ilia Gonzalez. On Thursday, November 12, local chefs, restaurants, farms, and food purveyors will join forces for a benefit event at Swank Specialty Produce in Loxahatchee.
Ilia and Jimmy built Driftwood together and have been an important part of the local community, sharing their time, talents and generosity with others over the years. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Everett family, helping support Jimmy and Maxon as they navigate this difficult new chapter.
An extraordinary lineup of local culinary talent will contribute to the evening, including Michael Hackman of aioli, Robert Bellini of Pistachioli.com , Bryce Dangerfield of Curds & Corks, Jon Sarmiento, Tori Rivera, Ernie DeBlasi, Daniel Diaz, James Strine, Tommy Pozzuto and Glenn Rogers of Elev8ted Chefs, Matt Reilly of Tempesta Artisans Salumi, and James Cruz of Second Rodeo.
The menu is still being finalized, but guests can expect a variety of chef stations, including a grazing station, grilled meats with chimichurri, a pasta station, seafood, salads, a Swank whole hog, dessert buffet and more. Guests can also enjoy mocktails from Sweetwater and BootlegGreg Cocktail Co. while Andy Thomas provides the live music.
