This yoga class includes a variety of postures, stretches, and balancing exercises to engage you with the full spectrum of your individual body, promoting awareness, strength, mobility, balance, flexibility, and relaxation.

Class begins with anchoring your awareness in the present with body, breath, and audible anchors. Then moves into slow functional movements to wake up the joints and activate muscles. Followed by a creative flow, either targeting certain areas of the body, focusing on different themes, or helping to build certain abilities, such as strength, flexibility or balance. Cool down explores floor based postures including passive, active, and resistance stretches. Final resting pose may include a guided meditation or breath-work.

Barbara teaches yoga asana (postures) based on the foundations of body biomechanics*. She encourages each individual to learn how their body works best in any given posture, she offers space for exploration and use of personal agency. She weaves yogic philosophy content such as The 8 Limbs of Yoga, Koshas, and Chakras to practice yoga beyond the postures.

All Levels

All Levels classes are suitable for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students and everyone in between. These classes offer modifications so that you can customize your class to fit your specific needs and level of expertise.

* Body mechanics is a term used to describe the ways we move as we go about our daily lives. It includes how we hold our bodies when we sit, stand, lift, carry, bend, and sleep. Good body mechanics means using the body's strength to the best mechanical advantage to do a task efficiently and without injury.
